Artistic residency

The cabanotel of inspiration

Perched at an altitude of 1,800 meters at the foot of the Dent Blanche, the cabanotel welcomes artists for stays ranging from two weeks to one month in an intimate and inspiring setting.

Here, the mountains, the silence, and the landscape become sources of inspiration, offering a space to experiment, create, and engage with the place and the community.

cabanotel will welcome its first resident in the summer of 2026, offering a studio, comfortable accommodation, and spaces open to the public where you can share your work and research.

Our vision

At cabanotel, we welcome artists who seek to explore and reinvent the connection between humans and nature. We are particularly interested in projects that question our relationship with the environment and society, and that reflect on how to live in harmony with nature, particularly in mountain regions.

We love to support artists who draw inspiration from the mountains and their landscapes to raise awareness, stir deep emotions, or offer healing experiences. Here, creation becomes a means of reconnect human beings with their own nature and that of the world around them, so that they no longer feel separated, but fully connected.

The artistic residency at La cabanotel to offer artists a space and time conducive to creation, experimentation, and the emergence of new narratives.

The objectives of the residency

  • To provide an inspiring setting, away from everyday life, allowing artists to devote themselves fully to their practice and research.
  • Encourage free experimentation, without the constraints of immediate production, in an environment that supports boldness and exploration.
  • Supporting thoughtful reflection on our relationship with the world, nature, and possible futures.
  • Provide a lively exhibition space, open to the public and benefiting from regular foot traffic, to enable artists to present their works or work in progress, make themselves known, and interact directly with visitors.
  • Enabling artists, whether emerging or established, to develop or further explore a personal project in a place imbued with powerful creative energy.
